Remember that amazing original animation The Nut Job? No? No, well why would you? It wasn't very good, but it made a bucket of profit, so inevitably a sequel was optioned, pitting the animals against that long-standing enemy of Mother Nature, roguish city developers.

Why Not Watch It?

Well, the first film was absolutely dire, so I doubt for a minute that many of the "fans" who took it to $120m at the box office will flock back either.

You can see the trajectory of this sequel coming a mile off: it has been rushed out to capitalise on its predecessor's good fortune, it has a cliched plot, and has Diminished Returns written all over it. In other words, it's a new contender for the Ice Age Award For Perfunctory, Cynical Sequels.
