10 Ways Superhero Movies & TV Shows Will Be Affected By Current World Events
3. The Batman's Future Is Now Uncertain
Like every other major production, The Batman was recently hit with a two-week delay. That's really not a big deal, but seeing as the DC Comics adaptation is being filmed in England (where things are getting steadily worse), the odds of shooting resuming at the end of March are very slim indeed.
Now, it's worth noting that there's a long time to go until The Batman's planned release date in June 2021, but there must be a reason director Matt Reeves wanted all that time, so a delay of even just a month or two could result in the release date being postponed. That's not the end of the world, but should this crisis continue throughout the rest of 2020, the Caped Crusader may even slip into 2022!
That will come as a blow to fans anxious to see the Dark Knight back on the big screen, but if the UK is off limits for a while, then The Batman could be facing yet another delay.
Still, the safety of the cast and crew should come first, and there's nothing to say this will happen. What would be an even bigger disaster is for Warner Bros. to force Reeves to rush finishing work on the movie, and we end up with another Justice League!
