10 Weirdest Christmas Movies Of All Time

7. Bad Santa

Bad Santa is one of the few films to offer up a devilishly subversive interpretation of good 'ol Saint Nick, placing Billy Bob Thornton as Willie, a mall Santa with a bad attitude, freely engaging in promiscuous sex, excessive drinking, and exorbitant cash splashing which he gets as a result of pulling a heist on the mall he works at every Christmas Eve. Though the story has a sure sweet side to it, what with Willie taking an unpopular, pudgy kid under his wing and forming a bond with him, the majority of the film's chuckles come from just how debauched his behaviour, and of course, Thornton spends the majority of his screen time in a Santa suit, which makes every action just seem that so much more corrupt, especially the sexual ones. It's a great film because it's got that redemptive quality but it's also incredibly down and dirty and therefore a nice tonic for the overly syrupy holiday films we have to deal with so often. Here's a Christmas comedy with a little irreverence.
