1. "Everything That Isn't My Favourite Franchise Totally Sucks"
The Complaint: "Everything has to be a contest, and so that other franchise that's in sorta competition with my favourite franchise is automatically terrible just because it doesn't have the same level of success so far. Whooo, we won!" Why It's Annoying: Because fanboys love to tether themselves so tightly to their favoured franchise that they lose all sense of objectivity. They're so desperate to feel a part of something that they take a win for the franchise as a win for themselves, which in effect is just playing right into the studio's hands. This goes back to the whole "you are a number on a spreadsheet" idea, but to expand, the studios obviously also want to build up brand loyalty and essentially create an "army" of fanboys, which Marvel Studios in particular has done exceedingly well. The spat between Marvel and DC movie fans is well documented, largely because it makes the hardcore fans feel like they're a part of something, even though the real winners (aside from the shareholders) are the people who can just try and enjoy movies from both companies without making everything a p***ing contest.
