14 Movie Trailers That Spoiled Awesome Plot Twists
2. Jason X
Look, nobody on Earth is going to try and argue that Jason X is a great or even good movie, but it does feature a ludicrously entertaining final reveal, that Jason Voorhees (Kane Hodder) ends up transformed into a cyborg, lovingly referred to by fans as Uber Jason.
It's worth noting that this doesn't happen until a whopping 73 minutes into the 92-minute movie, but perhaps in a desperate move to gets butts in seats, New Line spoiled it in trailers anyway.
The fact that Jason spends barely 10 minutes of the movie as Uber Jason only makes it that much more insulting, because the trailer implies the new sci-fi Jason appears far earlier.
In every which way that it could, the marketing for Jason X not only derailed a brilliantly nutty plot twist, but also raised expectations far beyond what they would've been if it was just left un-spoiled.
