14 Movie Trailers That Spoiled Awesome Plot Twists
1. Soylent Green
Soylent Green is people! It's one of the worst-kept plot twists in all of cinema, no question, and you've got virtually no chance of seeing the 1973 Charlton Heston-starring classic without being aware of this fact.
However, that doesn't at all excuse the movie's original trailer, which repeatedly asks the audience, "What is the secret of Soylent Green?", before nonchalantly giving the answer away.
At the trailer's 2:39 mark, we can see Chuck Heston blatantly observing bagged-up humans being shipped along a conveyor belt, and it doesn't exactly take a genius to figure out what's going to happen to them.
If that isn't enough, the closing narration further builds up the mystery of the food stuff's contents, overlaid on footage of people literally being scooped up en masse by giant construction equipment. Right...
