3. Cruella

Cruella will seemingly follow Maleficent's lead in expanding on a classic story, and telling it from a completely different angle.

Of course, everyone already knows who Cruella de Vil is, and it's up to director Craig Gillespie and Emma Stone to bring something different to the table. With Disney's new look at Maleficent, we were shown her torment and motivations from her perspective, and that she really wasn't all that bad. It will surely be difficult to do this with a woman hell bent on skinning puppies for her clothing.

Emma Stone will be joined in this 1970's punk rock style movie by Disney favourite Emma Thompson, and Mark Strong, with Games of Thrones' Joel Fry rounding off an impressive cast.

Though the Academy Award winning actress will have some big shoes to fill following Glenn Close's live action take on the character, she will undoubtedly give us a compelling performance. If Maleficent's success is anything to go by, it's unlikely Stone's role as the villain will be limited to just one movie.
