16. Tom Hiddleston (Loki) - The Marvel Cinematic Universe

Tom Hiddleston's Loki was introduced in the first Thor movie, and somewhat ironically, quickly became a more entertaining draw than the title character himself. By the time The Avengers rolled around, this was cemented entirely, as Loki plotted to unleash the Chitauri upon New York City, and Hiddleston was very much at the top of his quick-witted, hilariously demented game. Though Loki has vacillated from ambiguous allegiance to bad and then back again over the course of his cinematic tenure, his playful, cheeky persona has always made him someone Thor (and the rest of The Avengers) have clashed with. While Chris Hemsworth does a commendable enough job as Thor, Hiddleston simply gets the lion's share of prime material to work with: his velvety line readings are a joy to listen to, and those frequent moments in which he's foiled (such as when The Hulk rag-dolls him in The Avengers) are hilariously satisfying. Sadly, Loki won't be appearing in the upcoming Avengers: Age of Ultron, so we won't get to see him again until Thor 3 (likely headed for a 2016 release).
