4. Heart Eyes - The Most Predictable Killers Imaginable

Heart Eyes is a rock-solid fusion of romantic comedy and slasher flick, but its so-called twist villains were so obvious it actually hurt. 

In this one, a mysterious masked killer is going after couples on Valentine's Day and as with many slasher films, a key thing driving the story is the mystery of who's underneath the mask. As it turns out, there are three killers. The first one is unmasked earlier on and is someone unknown to the characters or the audience; that one worked just fine. 

However, the other two are unveiled as police detective Jeanine Shaw (Jordana Brewster) and police IT technician David (Yoson An) and this was a reveal in name only. Anyone with even a basic knowledge of horror movies would've pre-figured this well in advance. 

Jeanine had been attacked by the killer earlier but the film then cut away before she showed up later on as if nothing had happened, thus foreshadowing her guilt in flashing neon lights. As for David, that was also foreseeable. He'd only been in one other scene, but it was suspicious the way that the action paused to linger on this minor character. 

A sequel will be coming in February 2028. Hopefully, they'll come up with a better solution to the mystery next time.
