11. The Movie Was Released On M. Night Shyamalan's Birthday

The Sixth Sense received its world premiere on August 2nd, 1999, but the movie’s general release came a few days later on August 6th.

By sheer coincidence, M. Night Shyamalan was born on August 6th, 1970 – meaning that the writer and director was celebrating his 29th birthday on the day that The Sixth Sense was fully unleashed on audiences. Because what says ‘happy birthday’ better than scaring the pants off audiences with one of the most impactful horror pictures to have come along in years?

This was something that was so nearly mirrored with Shyamalan’s follow-up to The Sixth Sense, with Signs receiving a worldwide release on August 2nd, 2002.
