It’s easy in hindsight to think how no other actor could’ve ever
played a certain character or role, but that really was the case for The Sixth
Sense’s Malcolm Crowe.

From the mouth of M. Night Shyamalan himself, the role of
Malcolm Crowe was written purposely with Bruce Willis in mind.
According to the writer and director, Malcolm could only
have ever been played by Willis – with the star showing a far more subtle,
emotive side to his work than many may have been accustomed to in heavy-hitting
actioners up to that point.
The film would famously receive a large amount of award
nominations and wins, with Bruce Willis himself taking home a gong at the
People’s Choice Awards for his turn as Malcolm.
