5. Tony Stark / Iron Man (Iron Man 3) Giving Out His Home Address To A Terrorist Organisation
Okay, the chances are that if the Mandarin really wanted to take out Tony Stark and his Malibu dream house, they would have done so with or without him giving them his address. Though if there was any indecision over their plan to take out Iron Man, Tony Stark swearing vengeance and inviting the enemy to face him at home would certainly be the tipping point. It's all down to ego, and there are few heroes with the egos the size of Tony Stark's. That's what makes him such a great character; his flaws come to haunt him as much as his heroics. Just like the touch of the 'demon in a bottle' storyline in Iron Man 2 where he parades drunk at his own party in his suit. In Iron Man 3 there is someone with the (literal) firepower to take him on. Besides, it makes for a spectacular stand out point in the movie! While Tony Stark manages to save the day in the end, it does come at a personal loss. He almost gets his love, Pepper Potts, killed in the attack (if you're going to tell terrorists your address, make sure your significant other is out of the house) and he takes a heavy beating himself as he is dragged into the ocean, his house crumbling around him. Worst still, any sense of strength he has is lost when the enemy take out his home. It's not surprising Tony has to revaluate everything about his life in order to get back to the hero he is.
