14. Stupid Characters Everywhere
Ridley Scott assured fans that Alien: Covenant wouldn't repeat the same mistakes as Prometheus, namely sidelining the xenomorph and featuring a focal crew of dumb meat puppets. Well, at least there were xenomorphs...
The characters in Covenant were mind-bogglingly dumb at times, be it arriving on the Engineer planet without helmets, the clumsy backburster sequence where Faris (Amy Seimetz) slips in blood and subsequently blows the lander up, characters venturing off on their own for no reason, or Oram willfully peeking his head in an alien egg even after witnessing David's creepy behaviour first-hand.
There will always be those who try to hand-waive idiotic behaviour, but even in a panicked situation, these characters were straight up doofuses.
