13. How Does David Build A Lab On The Engineer Homeworld?

When David saves the Covenant's crew, he leads them through the desolated alien city to his HQ, which is later shown to contain a lab where he's performed a number of experiments in order to create the "perfect organism".

But hold up: where exactly did David get all of the necessary equipment to perform these experiments, considering that he and Shaw hurriedly left for the Engineer planet in a random Engineer ship?

It doesn't seem all that likely that the rather primitive-looking Engineer planet had tons of scalpels, test tubes and paper just lying around, so where the Hell did it all come from?
