Alternative Oscars: The Nominees & Winners For Every Category

11. Best Animated Film

WINNER: Zootopia

Disney just might be in the middle of a new Golden Age if their recent output is anything to go by, and this is one award that the Academy's sure to get right.

Zootopia may have been marketed as a fairly shallow Madagascar-esque romp, but thanks to a screenplay that melded the crime caper hijinks of Shane Black with enormous social relevance, it ended up being both the funniest and most intelligent animation of the year.

Pixar usually has this award locked up, but Disney has been on a roll lately, and are sure to take the big gold guy home this time.
