4. Talk 2 Me

The Philippou brothers' directorial debut Talk to Me is one of the most unexpected surprise horror hits of the 2020s so far, and considering both its huge critical and commercial success, of course there were swift discussions about a sequel.

Mere weeks after its U.S. release, the Philippous confirmed that they were already developing a sequel and would return to direct, with A24 soon enough confirming it would be entitled Talk 2 Me.

Though this sequel makes all the sense in the world, one already gets the feeling that it's gotten away from the Philippous, who have had a whole lot going on in the three years since the original's release.

Rather than dive straight into Talk 2 Me, they released their second feature Bring Her Back last year to critical acclaim, have since been working on a documentary about deathmatch wrestling, almost ended up directing the new Street Fighter movie, have met with Marvel, and have written another horror film they plan to make before Talk 2 Me.

This is all to say that one wouldn't be shocked if the brothers ultimately end up moving on from the sequel with the many opportunities they're getting at the moment, especially as they'd probably need to strike while the iron is hot with Talk 2 Me - and the iron is already starting to cool.
