20 Announced Movie Sequels That Are FINALLY Happening

11. Rush Hour 4

Even though 2007's Rush Hour 3 was something of a commercial disappointment relative to its budget, director Brett Ratner nevertheless began developing a fourth film soon thereafter.

Throughout the 2010s, Ratner, Jackie Chan, and Chris Tucker continually discussed the prospect of Rush Hour 4, but as the years wore on and Chan recently entered his seventies, it seemed considerably less likely.

But after years of false starts, last November Rush Hour 4 was indeed confirmed to be happening - with the doubly nauseating caveat that Ratner, who has been repeatedly accused of sexual misconduct, will return to direct, and President Donald Trump had a hand in getting the belated sequel greenlit.

Filming is currently set to take place in China, Saudi Arabia, and Africa starting from September, though a slight spanner was recently thrown in the works as Chan and Tucker's salaries haven't yet been settled.

The pair were reportedly offered "only" $8 million a-piece to return, way down from their $20 million paydays for Rush Hour 3, and so the particulars of their deals need to be ironed out before shooting can start.

But aside from this, the pieces seem to be largely in place for production to begin.
