It's absolutely no surprise that Warner Bros. and DC are eager to get Batman on the big screen as many times as they can. He's undoubtedly their biggest draw, still riding high on a legacy that has lasted for over 75 years, and despite all the pessimistic hubbub surrounding the initial announcement that Ben Affleck would be playing the character, Affleck more than proved the worry was all for naught in Batman v Superman and Suicide Squad.

Though there's no release date set yet, a Batman solo film is on the way, with Affleck himself set to direct it from a script he's penning alongside comic vet Geoff Johns. Affleck has gone on record ensuring that the film won't move forward until he's confident in it, but it's pretty much a certainty that fans won't have to wait until 2020 for it to hit screens. (And even then, the character will be appearing in Justice League and, undoubtedly, a number of the other DCEU films to tide them over.)

Beyond that, we know that Jeremy Irons' Alfred will be back, J.K. Simmons' Commissioner Gordon will appear after debuting in the first Justice League, and that Joe Manganiello will be turning up as Deathstroke. Thanks to his work on Gone Baby Gone, Argo, and The Town, Affleck has solidified his status as a good director, and hopefully he can wrangle all of this together to deliver a Batman film unlike anything we've seen when the time comes.
