3. Fox's In-Development Marvel Movies Are Now At Disney's Mercy

Even in light of Disney's impending takeover, Fox was still working on a wide bunch of Marvel movies, including Dark Phoenix, New Mutants, Silver Surfer, and Kitty Pryde. The company had to act like nothing was changing; after all, they're a business, and there was a chance that the merger wouldn't go through.

But now that it has gone through, all those movies - aside from Dark Phoenix and New Mutants, which have both been shot - are presumably cancelled. Why would Disney want to pick up Fox's leftovers? Discussing the fate of Fox's in-development Marvel movies over at their new home, Shuler Donner confirmed that it will be Disney's decision as to whether or not they actually happen (via /Film):

“That is up to Disney. That really is up to Disney.... this is all now in Disney’s playground and they get to decide. At least we know it’s in good hands. Everybody’s worked really hard up to now on the Fox side but now it’s going to be Disney’s call.”

This means that movies like X-Force, Gambit, and X-23 are basically dead in the water unless Disney chooses to move ahead with them in some form. There is, however, one of these movies that's showing some signs of life...
