3. Backrooms

Based on one of the internet’s most enduring Creepypastas, Kane Parsons' Backrooms centres around a furniture owner, Clark (Chiwetel Ejiofor,) who finds a portal to an endless maze composed of endless identical rooms.

The premise taps into primal fears of the unknown and being lost, so the found-footage flick should be relatable despite the otherworldly premise.

Now, the backrooms themselves seem bland at first. (I mean, an office-like dimension filled with yellow walls and stained carpets hardly screams terror.) Be that as it may, the rules governing this reality defy human logic or understanding, so there should be a constant sense of uncertainty (especially when Clark eventually encounters its inhuman occupants).

While Backrooms has an intriguing hook, it could easily fall flat if the concept isn't explored effectively. Fortunately, Kane Parsons is the perfect person to spearhead the feature, since he already directed a web-series based on the urban legend, which remained gripping for its entire run.

The web-series indicates Parsons has a lot of ideas for this Creepypasta, so don't be surprised if the backrooms maze stretches into a full-blown franchise.
