MCU: 10 Underrated X-Men Who Should Lead Instead Of Wolverine
2. Trinary
Since Kevin Feige assumed control of the MCU’s overarching vision, there’s been more diversity with both the casting and the storytelling. With that in mind, could it soon get geopolitical and bring in Trinary?
Trinary is an Indian mutant with workers rights and feminism at the heart of her origin. She uses her telepathic powers to skim money from the bank accounts of the 25 richest CEOs in the world and redistribute it to the working women of India. When her father learns of what she’s done, he reports her to the police, and Trinary sends a distress signal to Jean Grey via a messenger in Wakanda.
Jean Grey then leads an assault to break Trinary out, before Trinary becomes an official member of the team.
It’s one of the most visceral origin stories, packed with action, intrigue and rife with social commentary. Like Fantomex, it seems to require other mutants through the door first, but replacing Jean Grey with Black Panther, Captain Marvel or the Avengers could see it all work out.
Its certainly a story which would fit in seamlessly on the big screen, but would represent a risk for the MCU as well.
