2. Thor Returns To Earth...Somehow - The Avengers

The end of Thor finds the title character cut off from Jane Foster following the destruction of the Bifrost, the bridge between Asgard and Earth. Without this bridge, we’re told it’s not possible to cross over, so he doesn’t know if he’ll ever see the woman he loves ever again.

It appears in The Avengers the Bifrost being destroyed wasn’t a major hassle, since Thor arrives on Earth to collect Loki. There’s a throwaway line about magic, but the film – or Joss Whedon – isn’t bothered trying to explain it. Fans hate this because the previous movie clearly established how important the bridge was, and this follow-up just handwaves the whole thing away.

The Dark World at least shows the bridge was repaired, so MCU fans can now sleep easier at night.
