7. House Of M

The Film

Obviously, it would be hard to make a House Of M pure adaptation, because of the rights issues stopping any X-Men appearing, but the framework of the story could easily be used in the aftermath of Infinity War.

A film could take Wanda's instability in the wake of Infinity War - made worse no doubt by the impending removal of her boyfriend Vision's head by Thanos to retrieve the Mind Stone - and have her decide to change reality to escape the pain. That would see the "deaths" of lots of heroes, apart from a select few given new lives as one turned detective to uncover the truth.

Any Evidence?

Elizabeth Olsen might have said she didn't know how necessary a Scarlet Witch stand-alone would be, but fans and pundits have talked about the possibility of a House Of M movie since she first appeared.

Any Groundwork?

Lots actually. Almost since she appeared we've been trained to consider Scarlet Witch as a wildcard and not exactly very stable. Her relationship with Vision has already been heavily hinted at too, and that can only end in disaster, and the publicity tour ahead of Civil War seemed to run with the idea of her growing in power and instability in future.

It's all set up for it to lead into a House Of M style story.
