5. Adam Warlock

The Film

In the comics, Adam Warlock was revived after being discovered inside the world of the Soul Gem and he helped to defeat Thanos, which is exactly the way any film starring him could go.

That would only be his first appearance in Infinity War and its sequel though, and a stand-alone could then focus on the Infinity Crusade comic storyline and his appointment of the Infinity Watch to keep the Stones separate and protected after Thanos is defeated.

Any Evidence?

Well, he apparently appeared in cocoon form in Guardians Of The Galaxy, but Easter Eggs shouldn't really be taken as canon, necessarily. That being said, his importance in the post-Infinity War aftermath of the comics suggests he'd be an important figure if introduced in the films.

Any Groundwork?

No, but the very existence of the Infinity War storyline gives Marvel an easy way in for Warlock.
