20 Recent Horror Movies That NEED Sequels
2. Whistle
Corin Hardy's new horror film Whistle may have received mixed reviews and flopped at the box office, but damn if it didn't have the makings of a long-running franchise.
Above all else, the concept is absolutely killer, centered around an Aztec death whistle which, when blown, causes anyone who hears it to be hunted down by a manifestation of how they're meant to die in the future.
Though the film doesn't fully deliver on the promise of this idea, it does make a compelling enough argument that Whistle could become a Final Destination-esque IP centered around bonkers, creative death scenes.
And honestly, it's a strong enough idea that we can only hope Whistle somehow gets a sequel, especially with the first film's ending setting up a decidedly more chaotic second movie where an entire school auditorium's worth of students, teachers, and parents are now cursed.
It may not be terribly likely that Whistle 2 gets made, though we can otherwise hope that the property gets rebooted at some point.
