3. Why Did I Get Married Again?

Tyler Perry's 2007 dramedy Why Did I Get Married? was a box office hit despite mixed reviews, enough that sequel Why Did I Get Married Too? was released in 2010 and performed similarly well with general audiences despite faring far worse with critics.

Between 2011 and 2017, Perry produced a spin-off TV series, For Better or Worse, and though he floated the idea of a third film, Why Did I Get Married Again, back in 2021, the lack of forward momentum seemed to suggest it wasn't happening.

After all, plenty of time has passed since he's done anything with the IP, and he certainly has his hands full running his wider media empire, but back in January it was indeed confirmed that the threequel had already started production for Netflix.

The plot will reportedly revolve around the wedding of Marcus (Michael Jai White) and Angela's (Tasha Smith) daughter, with most major cast members set to return.

And Perry has certainly wasted no time getting the film through post-production, as it's already set to drop on September 9.
