20 Recent Horror Movies You'll Never Watch Again

18. Iron Lung

Markiplier's sci-fi horror film Iron Lung is undeniably one of the year's big genre success stories, and though the streamer-turned-filmmaker's loyal fans turned out in droves to support the movie, how many folk are honestly going back for seconds?

Though broadly well-received, Iron Lung's big problem is its absolutely brutal pacing.

With a stupor-inducing 125-minute runtime and Markiplier's glacial approach to editing, this is a stamina-annihilating slog to sit through, such that even if you appreciate its low-budget atmospherics and world-building, it's tough to work yourself up to give it a second viewing.

Iron Lung is a classic case of what happens when an inexperienced filmmaker edits their own material.

A professional editor could've trimmed this down to a pacy 85 or 90 minutes, but in its bloated released state there's little incentive for anyone beyond the filmmaker's most die-hard fans to ever revisit it. A commendable experiment, but what a chore.
