No, we haven't gone mad. Back in 1992, the Goddard Group almost secured a deal to build a full size replica of the USS Enterprise-NCC-1701-A in the heart of Las Vegas. It was an extremely ambitious project that failed only when the CEO of Paramount balked; his concern was that there would so much attention, so much money pouring into this project, it would ultimately fail if Star Trek died a death. As we know, fifteen years later, the TV and movie franchise came to a grinding halt. But imagine it. A full sized replica of the USS Enterprise filled with restaurants, rides, tours and live entertainment. Las Vegas might have its own Star Trek experience but this could be something else altogether...all for a cool $150 million.
