Star Wars: Rogue One - 10 Niggling Concerns No Fan Wants To Admit

5. Potentially Squandering The Presence Of Darth Vader

The presence of Darth Vader needs to be handled carefully, because – underutilised, or overutilised – there’s a dangerous chance he could overshadow other aspects of the film. The character’s relative absence might actually prove more detrimental, especially considering the extent to which the plot revolves around the Death Star, necessitating all sorts of questions, such as: where is he, and why didn’t he think this was worth showing up for?

Equally, the character being featured too heavily might detract from the larger narrative, distracting audiences or side-tracking the action unnecessarily. Either way, the consequences could be disastrous, diminishing the impact of the primary antagonist, Orson Krennic – who has a personal connection to several characters in the movie, including the protagonist, making him a more appropriate nemesis to ground the dramatic elements.

Hopefully, Darth Vader will be used appropriately, but there have already been several rumours suggesting the complete opposite is actually the case. Let's hope not.
