There's no real reason to hate on that brief shot of a giant robot, save for the fact that - in a trailer that works (for the most part) as a brilliant showcase for seamless practical effects and CGI working in unison - it's kind of jarring to behold. Granted, the unnamed robot - seen walking past Han, Rey and Finn as they approach a sort of temple towards the end of the trailer - might look a bit better when it comes to the final cut, but there's something awkward about its inclusion right now. This, perhaps, stems from the fact that the design of the robot doesn't feel very "Star Wars" - it's almost like something left over from a video game. Half-Life 2, perhaps. Of all the brief glimpses of new creatures, droids and characters in the final trailer, there's just something about this one that doesn't quite sit right. How very "J.J. Abrams."
