We just took a big step closer to Star Wars: The Last Jedi. While we've had a few leaks trickling out over the last few weeks, there's been nothing concrete since the Vanity Fair cover back in May.

Now, thanks to another magazine cover story, the Wait for VIII just became a lot more bearable, and The Last Jedi just got even more exciting. EW have unveiled their coverage of Rian Johnson's upcoming sequel, and brought with it a number of important and enticing new details.

The onus is still on keeping things largely spoiler-free, but through new images and reveals from the cast and crew, we now have a better idea of how Episode VIII is shaping up, just to get us even more hyped (if that's possible) for The Last Jedi.

We've known for some time that one of the new locations in The Last Jedi would be Canto Bight, a casino which effectively serves as the movie's take on Mos Eisley Cantina, only for the galaxy's 1% (making it the real hive of scum and villainy).

Previously it was likened to Monte Carlo, but a different comparison has arisen now, with Johnson saying to EW:

"The whole city is kind of one sort of luxury resort that’s been built on this very otherwise abandoned, arid planet. It’s like Vegas with aliens. So maybe it is just like Vegas.”

The planet that it's on, as just revealed, is called Cantonica. It previously looked like we wouldn't be getting another new desert planet in the movie, but I guess the pull of that was too strong - and at least it is a different riff on what we've seen before.
