Star Wars: The Last Jedi Toy Photos Offer New Look At Snoke's Praetorian Guards
Supreme Leader Snoke gets himself some Emperor Palpatine style bodyguards.
Although the official promos for Star Wars: The Last Jedi have been light on Supreme Leader Snoke, a few details about his character in Episode VIII have nonetheless slipped out over the past few months.
We've had the reveal of his new gold look, and we've also heard about his new guards, which will be performing a similar function to Emperor Palpatine's Royal Guards.
Now, a new image of some merchandise (via StarWarsNet) has found its way online, giving us the best look yet at what's being called Snoke's Elite Praetorian Guards. As previously revealed by Making Star Wars, they will have different helmet designs - though none seem to have any real visors, so apparently they don't need to see - and carry different weapons a la the Ninja Turtles.
Apart from the helmets, the design is clearly a heavy riff on the Royal Guards, though hopefully we'll see these guys in a bit more action. They'll be serving Snoke on his Mega Star Destroyer, which we saw Kylo Ren on during the recent behind-the-scenes video.
Force Friday II is coming on September 1, so we should be getting a much better look at these, and a lot more of The Last Jedi, when that arrives. For now, though, it's a good new look at what should hopefully be a cool new addition to the galaxy.
