18. Ready or Not 2: Here I Come

By the time Ready or Not 2: Here I Come was finally released this past March, many questioned whether the filmmaking team had simply waited too long to get the horror-comedy sequel made, especially with it picking up immediately where the first film ended.

And while Ready or Not 2 underperformed at the box office, likely as a result of the overlong wait between instalments, in purely artistic terms it was certainly a rock-solid sequel.

Far from the conceptual rehash many expected, this follow-up got tremendous mileage out of the sibling dynamic between Samara Weaving and Kathryn Newton, while other new cast members Sarah Michelle Gellar, Shawn Hatosy, and especially Elijah Wood frequently stole the show.

While lacking the immediate freshness of the original, Ready or Not 2 served up another darkly hilarious smorgasbord of bloody mayhem, once again confirming Weaving to be one of the most iconic scream queens of her era.
