20 Awesome 90s Movies That Deserve More Love

19. Very Bad Things (1998)

I'm not going to sit here and tell you that Very Bad Thing is a great film, but as a slice of pitch-black laughs and entertaining nonsense, it's certainly a must-watch for those nights when you want to switch off and have a little laugh.

Directed by Peter Berg in his feature debut (before he became besties with Marky Mark), Very Bad Thing features an all-star cast on hysterically unhinged form as friends who commit a double murder and desperately attempt to cover up their crimes.

A vicious, bloody comedy of errors ensues, as the film's gaggle of incompetent criminals - amongst them Christian Slater, Jon Favreau, and Cameron Diaz - keep digging themselves a deeper grave.

It didn't win any awards, and an argument can be made that it's a bit more mean-spirited at times than whimsical fun, but it is an entertaining yarn all the same - perfect if you're after a '90s comedy to watch with your mates on Saturday night.
