5. Tapeworm Removal - The Ugly Stepsister

The Ugly Stepsister is a deliciously twisted body horror re-do of Cinderella, following the title character Elvira (Lea Myren) as she goes to increasingly horrific ends to compete with her immaculate, gorgeous stepsister Agnes aka Cinderella (Thea Sofie Loch Næss).

Having crude, brutal surgery performed on her face and feet apparently isn't enough, so Elvira ends up consuming a tapeworm egg in a desperate attempt to shift some extra weight.

But the handsome Prince Julian (Isac Calmroth) picks Agnes anyway, leaving a defeated Elvira to drink an antidote which promptly causes her to puke up the most comically gigantic tapeworm of all time.

Writer-director Emilie Blichfeldt milks the moment for every nauseating drop, lingering on Elvira's obvious agony as the tapeworm is forcibly pulled from her body.

Between the outstanding practical effects work and Lea Myren's stupendous performance in the scene, this'll stick with you for the long haul.
