X-Men: Fear The Beast - 8 Biggest Takeaways From The Abandoned Movie Script
4. Hank Turns Into Mega-Beast
Near the end of the film, Hank, Ahnah (and her daughter Bunkei) are attacked inside a wooden cabin by local hunters who view Beast as a threat, and wish to kill Ahnah for associating with him.
Surrounded by foes and stuck inside the burning cabin, Hank has to find a way out, and fast. Out of options, he chooses to inject himself with some of Cartier's mutant-activation serum, transforming himself into a much stronger version of the normal Beast - Mega-Beast!
From here, Mega-Beast absolutely wrecks shop, killing most of the hunters, soaking up shotgun pellets, and chucking around snowmobiles like they're footballs. The script states that Mega-Beast is "nothing like its predecessor", and is "darker, twice as massive, a true force of nature", and that really comes across in the way that Mega-Beast is barely challenged for the rest of the film.
Wendigo gives him a proper good fight of course, but Mega-Beast still comes out on top. In a way, it wouldn't be too engaging to watch a character who's borderline unstoppable (it's the Superman problem - how do you create interesting challenges for someone who's invulnerable?), but thankfully, Mega-Beast isn't overused, and Hank returns to his normal self at the end of the story.
