'Instinct' was a new feature to Absolution when the game launched in 2012. Borrowing from other stealth franchises like Splinter Cell, IO Interactive decided that Agent 47 would have something of a 'Sixth Sense' when it came to scouting ahead and planning his method of attack. Unfortunately, the skill boiled down to hiding his face from those wearing the same costume. That wasn't an effective use of something which should come in handy. Hitman is now better-balanced, and instinct feels a lot more natural. Sure, at the click of a button players can still see through walls, ceilings and floors, but it's now no longer a way to sneak into previously inaccessible areas. The whole system just feels a lot more satisfying. Better yet, there are no pesky limitations on the idea now. In Absolution, 47 only had a finite amount of instinct at his disposal. In the new game, it's utterly limitless. Spam that button as much as you like, there's always the opportunity to gain a slight advantage on the enemy.
