10 Video Game Items Everyone Hoards (But Never Uses)

10. Poison - Baldur's Gate 3

Baldur’s Gate 3 is a pretty accurate representation of playing tabletop Dungeons & Dragons with your friends. It’s got the dice screwing you over, the slow descent of your party into a bunch of murder hobos, and it even features the most common affliction among D&D players—the urge to needlessly hold on to items they’re never going to use.

The game features an impressive collection of consumable items that can give you an edge in combat as well as outside of it. You have bombs, magic scrolls, potions, and poisons, and while they all sound useful, in reality, one of the above-mentioned categories is pretty much never used.

Although it’s almost guaranteed that you’ll instinctively grab every vial of poison you find on your first playthrough, it’s just as likely that you will never use a single one in your entire campaign.

You might think a poisoned arrow or dagger might prove advantageous, but then every time you enter combat, you either have more powerful items at your disposal or you’ve encountered yet another group of enemies that are resistant or immune to poison. Looks like we're hanging onto all of this for a little longer... again.
