10. "Boss Battle" - Final Fantasy XII's Boss Battle Theme
As the technology of game's consoles improved so did the options for the composers. Starting with Final Fantasy X on the PS2, the music of Final Fantasy took a turn for the grander; tracks becoming longer, more diverse and more instruments being used. This has led to a new generation of Final Fantasy music that many of the old hand claim inferior, citing that more options require less creative genius. Final Fantasy XII- the only game in the series without a recognised regular battle theme- more than makes up for it with it's Boss Battle version. Take a listen to this orchestral hurricane of drama. This track wouldn't be out of place in a Christopher Nolan superhero thriller and stands at the pinnacle of the new generation of Final Fantasy music.
