20 Clever Video Game Easter Eggs You Didn't Understand
10. Wet Bodies - Hotline Miami
Hotline Miami is an absolutely brutal top-down shooter that really pushes the boundaries of how much violence can fit into a handful of pixels.
In fact, there is one really gross Easter egg interaction that will make you question if the Hotline team didn't go a little too far with the gory realism.
Anyone who's played Hotline Miami knows that in this game blood splatters everywhere. Each weapon packs a visceral punch that can spill your enemies' crimson juices all over the room, but blood and guts aren't the only thing that can come out of them.
It turns out that if you wield a blunt melee weapon and sneakily hit an enemy on the head with it, a special animation can play that will show them convulsing on the floor and then... peeing themself.
This gross and quite disturbing interaction is a reference to the type of bladder release that can happen in real life when a person experiences severe head trauma and sudden damage to their nervous system.
The fact that this can only trigger when you take out enemies with blunt objects means that the devs clearly did their research on the many different ways in which a person can be murdered.
Impressive, if a bit disturbing.
