20 Dumb Video Game Restrictions Players Hated
6. Can't Reach Skyhold - Dragon Age: Inquistion
Dragon Age: Inquisition is the last Dragon Age title to allow you to import your save files from previous games and experience the world with the full scope of your actions across the franchise.
This should make the title incredibly replayable in theory, but in practice a huge chunk of the game’s player base is not returning to it after their first playthrough.
The reason? Haven.
Haven is the small village in Ferelden that serves as your base of operations in the first act of the game. After the village is attacked and destroyed, your team moves to a new location called Skyhold, and while the game portrays this as something of a tragic moment, in reality, moving out of Haven is the best part of the game.
Skyhold is an infinitely better stronghold, as it allows you to have a lot more interactions with your companions, it unlocks more parts of the world to visit, and you can also customize it and organize proper trials inside of its chambers.
Haven, on the other hand, heavily restricts the player in where they can go and what they can do. It feels like a lengthy tutorial that lasts a couple of hours too long, turning away most players who try to replay the game.
