4. Realm of Ruination's Secret Sword Cave - The Witcher 3

The Witcher 3’s open world typically lets you do things at your own pace. Since the main story is quite linear and most missions aren’t tied to any time constraints, you’re free to start and finish quests whenever you want.

However, there is one place that you can only visit once—Gaunter O’Dimm’s Realm of Ruination, which you access at the end of the Heart of Stone DLC to defeat the demon and free Olgierd’s soul.

And even though there is technically a time limit that triggers as soon as you enter Gaunter’s world, you really want to explore this spooky locale a little bit, because you might otherwise miss out on an amazing reward.

The mission inside the Realm of Ruination requires you to find O’Dimm before the time runs out. The first part of this section is filled with crossroads to throw you off the correct path, but one of these fake detours to the right of the ruins where O’Dimm is hiding secretly leads to a cave filled with treasures and a unique witcher blade called the Viper Venomous Silver Sword.

The cave is the only location where this sword can be found, and since you can’t return to Gaunter’s world after the mission, you shouldn’t be afraid to take a short detour from your objectives.
