9. Use Characters On Their "Favoured Courses"

Another change from Mario Kart as you know and love it, is the association of characters with specific courses, but in a gameplay sense.

Where fans have known Toad's Turnpike, Luigi Circuit, Bowser's Castle etc. for decades, now characters have "Favoured Courses".

Though the game floats this information in terms of highlighting profile pictures before you leap into a race, make a point of going into the Menu and tap on Drivers, then you can see who performs best where.

Matching a driver to their course of choice lets you store more power-ups, and depending on who you're playing as, getting three of the same thing will trigger a "Frenzy", letting you fire off scores of red shells, lightning bolts etc. depending on your character.
