8 Terrible Games That Didn't DESERVE Sequels

5. Rise of the Robots

There are many, many young gamers who saw the box art for Rise of the Robots and thought that it looked like the coolest game of all time.

After all, this 1994 cyborg brawler touted some extremely cool character designs and 3D visuals that, at the time, were mouth-wateringly impressive.

But within minutes of loading Rise of the Robots up, it became clear that the game was a pig with lipstick on.

Even the basic moment-to-moment controls feel horrible and the move sets are brutally lacking, ensuring there's absolutely nothing going on beyond the visuals and Brian May's awesome soundtrack.

Yet despite the game's commercial failure, a sequel was swiftly developed anyway, with Rise 2: Resurrection launching just 18 months after the first.

But if you thought that developer Mirage might've learned any harsh lessons after the pummelling the first game took, think not. Unsurprisingly it flopped at retail just like its predecessor, killing this most puzzling franchise dead.
