WWE 2K26 Attitude Era Edition Announced (WWE News)
This year's WWE 2K26 dips back into the past yet again with a special 'Attitude Era' version.
2K Games has announced a brand new 'Attitude Era' edition of the upcoming WWE 2K26 that'll be available for preorder on 30 January. The game doesn't have an ironclad release date just yet, but it's expected to launch sometime in early March - last year's 2K25 released on 14 March, so most fans predict something similar for 2026.
Of course, this isn't the first time WWE's video game series has leaned heavily on the wildly successful 'Attitude Era'. THQ were in the hot seat as producers when WWE '13 launched, but 2K brought some 'Attitude' via a Steve Austin-inspired Showcase Mode in 2K16.
The flashy cover art for this special edition shows the following stars of the era (from left to right, top to bottom): Kane, Steve Austin, The Undertaker, Shawn Michaels, The Rock, Triple H, Chyna, Trish Stratus, Lita, Kurt Angle, Stephanie McMahon and The Dudley Boyz.
It's a wonderful piece of work that shows off the variety 'Attitude' became known for.
2K's official trailer for this special version of the game didn't include any gameplay footage, so some will be a bit bummed out by that. Gameplay sneak peeks, screenshots and more are expected to follow shortly. It's only a few months (at most) until 2K26 comes out, after all.
It remains to be seen if the aforementioned Showcase Mode, MyGM, MyRise, Universe and more will be drenched in 'Attitude'. As always, players will be able to fully customise their own sandbox in Universe Mode, but it'd be cool to see some of the era's best moments pop up elsewhere.
