Kiss: 10 Awesome '80's Songs You've Never Heard

5. "Dance All Over Your Face" from Lick It Up, 1983

Kiss€™ 1983 release Lick It Up is best known for two things: the title track which is still a staple at live shows and the fact that the band appeared on the cover and subsequent tour sans makeup. While the album€™s writing credits indicate a pretty typical split between Simmons and Stanley the feel as a whole seems heavier on the Gene influence. €œDance All Over Your Face€ is Simmons€™ best track on Lick It Up with €œNot For The Innocent€ receiving consideration as well. The track is a mid-tempo rocker with a solid, memorable chorus whose lyric is Simmons€™ response to being on the receiving end of a cheating lover, a role reversal if we believe Simmons' claims to sexual prowess. In today€™s so-called politically correct world this classic bit of Gene Simmons misogyny would never go over.
