6 Things You Need To Know About Universal Orlando Resort's Halloween Horror Nights 34
Terrifying houses and spooky snacks await at this year's HHN34.
It's time to scream with joy because Universal Orlando Resort's spooky season has officially begun!
Halloween Horror Nights kicked off on 29th August at Universal Studios Florida for its 34th year. The world's premier Halloween event completely immerses guests in the all their favourite scary things.
The theme park's streets are filled with terrifying scare zones, devilishly delightful treats and 10 horrifying haunted houses waiting to frighten you.
This year 5 of the incredibly detailed houses are inspired by famous names in horror and 5 others are original stories from the Universal creative team.
This year's event takes you into a spooky conservatory of a haunted Spanish home. The origins of horror have come to life and invited you to join the party.
Taking place over 66 nights, HHN34 has even more elaborate scare zones, extra street experiences, and the fan favourite lagoon show is once again lighting up the night's sky.
With so much to see and do and only 66 nights to do it in between 29th August and 2nd November, we've got everything you need to know about what to expect from this year's Halloween Horror Nights.
6. Famous Names Houses
Halloween Horror Nights wouldn't be the event that we all love without the huge names that form part of its house line up.
These scary haunted houses take you right into the heart of some of your favourite scary movies, tv shows and gaming franchises. Allowing you to feel the fear of what it's like to come face-to-face with the biggest baddies in the business.
HHN34 is no exception, and we think this may be one of the most diverse line ups we've ever seen at the event. No matter what scares you, there's definitely a house that's going to bring you to your knees in fear.
Jason Universe
Your journey into the Jason Universe will begin where he started, at summer camp. "From the creaking floorboards of Jason’s ramshackle cabin to the decaying main lodge" we'll step into the iconic world of Friday the 13th. From here and beyond the forest, we see "infamous killer moments" all supplied by the machete wielding, hockey masked wearing slasher.
This house pays tribute to the 45 years that Jason Voorhees has stalked Camp Crystal Lake and all of its inhabitants, including original killer Pamela Voorhees. In this house we see many of the different variations of Jason that have been immortalised on screen over his 12 movies.
Be prepared to run the gauntlet of Jasons, will you make it out of the house in once piece?
Fallout
Based on the Amazon Prime series, which was inspired by the award-winning game franchise, Fallout sees you trying to survive a post-apocalyptic wasteland.
Just like Lucy MacLean you encounter the mutated creatures, "desperate survivors" and dangerous Raiders; that call The Wasteland home. Follow in Vault 33 dweller Lucy's journey to the surface as "she escapes a bloody massacre, only to discover an evil hidden secret." From "mutated cockroaches known as RAD Roaches" to the " ageless bounty hunter" known as The Ghoul, you'll encounter all that The Wasteland has to offer. Including visiting familiar places like Super Duper Mart.
There's even a Easter Egg for what to expect in Season 2 of the show so keep your eyes peeled.
Terrifier
Described by Universal Creative Lora Sauls as one of the "goriest houses we've ever created", the Terrifier house takes you into the world of mute killer Art the Clown.
Heading into the Funhouse from Terrifier 2, you'll "encounter familiar faces..., including Vicky and the Little Pale Girl." Fans of the films will see some of the iconic kills from the series.
Within the maze you'll have to make a huge decision, do you take the "dry path" or the "blood bath", with the water effects on the wet path being described as "10,000% more" wet than what HHN has done in the past. Something after experiencing, we can attest to!
Gore hounds will find themselves right at home in the world of Terrifier.
Five Nights at Freddy's
Fans of Five Nights at Freddy's have been desperate for a house to come to the event and HHN34 is finally giving them what they want.
Based on the Blumhouse movie that was inspired by the epically popular video game, this house brings you face-to-face with Freddy Fazbear’s Pizzeria's infamous residents. You will follow the path of nighttime security guard Mike as he discovers that the huge animatronics from the closed entertainment centre, harbour something more malevolent.
Universal Creative Lora Sauls told us that just like the movie, Universal has worked with Jim Henson's Creature Shop to create the massive, terrifying replicas of Freddy Fazbear, Chica, Bonnie, Foxy and Mr. Cupcake. In this maze, you are stalked by these supernatural creatures as you venture through the dark corridors and recognisable scenes from the film.
Be ready to be "lured into the black heart of an unspeakable nightmare." Queues for this maze are already reaching 3 hours in length, so if this is one you have to do, plan your time at HHN accordingly.
WWE Presents: The Horrors of The Wyatt Sicks
In a death match like no other, this house takes you "head-to-head with Uncle Howdy in an experience that not only features the Wyatt Sicks but honours the legacy of Bray Wyatt."
Fans head through the light of the lantern and find themselves in the twisted world of WWE's most horrifying wrestling tag team.
From the first moment the tag team appeared to journeying into Bray Wyatt's Funhouse, you'll be completely immersed in the world of Ramblin' Rabbit, Abby the Witch, Huskus the Pig Boy and Mercy the Buzzard. All with the presence of Bray Wyatt's alter ego "The Fiend" and their Firefly fans watching you.
This house is a WWE fan's dream, but take it from us, you don't need to be a lover of wrestling to appreciate just house scary this house is.
We managed to have a deep dive with Lora Sauls on all the hellish details on this house so for WWE and horror fans who want to know more, why not check that out too.
