WWE Teams Up With Universal For A Wyatt Sicks Haunted House At Halloween Horror Nights Orlando
We get exclusive details from Universal about "WWE Presents: The Horrors of the Wyatt Sicks".
For the first time in Orlando, WWE and Universal’s Halloween Horror Nights are tag-teaming up to create a haunted house based on ‘WWE Presents: The Horrors of the Wyatt Sicks.’
Powerbombing into Universal's Orlando and Hollywood parks, guests at Halloween Horror Nights 34 (HHN34) will get to experience the strange and scary world of Bray Wyatt’s Firefly Funhouse.
Find yourself going "head-to-head with Uncle Howdy in an experience that not only features The Wyatt Sicks but also honours the legacy of Bray Wyatt".
Fans can expect to see Huskus the Pig Boy, Abby the Witch, Ramblin' Rabbit and Mercy the Buzzard in their element, along with their firefly fans. As you "travel through the light of the lantern," you'll find yourself stalked by the eerie presence of The Fiend, Bray’s sadistic alter ego, who looms within the shadows and beckons them to let him in."
WWE has always been larger than life, but at HHN34, wrestling fans can find themselves completely immersed in the Wyatt Sicks' world with "the chilling crew of five... quickly emerged as one of the most disturbing and disruptive groups in WWE history".
Today’s announcement adds the WWE house to an already stacked card, including horror heavy hitters like "Five Nights at Freddy's" "Terrifier", "Fallout", and a "Jason Universe" house based on the Friday the 13th franchise's infamous villain.
Each fall, Universal Orlando Resort transforms into a place filled with screams. Universal Studios Florida's streets are taken over by horrifying scare zones and 10 unique haunted houses. Five of these are based on famous franchises we all love, whilst the other come from the twisted minds of the Universal Orlando Resort's entertainment team.
Although horror and wrestling have always gone hand in hand, it seems now is the perfect time for Universal Orlando Resort to create an immersive maze based on the creepy WWE Tag Team Champions.
In an exclusive interview with Universal’s Lora Sauls (Assistant Director of Creative Development and Show Direction for Art, Design and Entertainment), she told us everything that we can expect, and why, as she put it, “WWE fans are going to get exactly what they want out of ‘The Horrors of the Wyatt Sicks’” house.
Universal Orlando’s creative team are making sure that they are “taking you into the world of these characters.” From the very first scene, Lora said Universal is “going to recreate the very first debut time that the Wyatt Sicks came out” before guests find themselves suplexed into the Firefly Funhouse.
It wouldn’t be a WWE house without some of its stars making an appearance. Describing a scene in the house, Lora confirmed, “Something new for Halloween Horror Nights, we have 27 TVs in one space… you’re going to see over 15 different wrestlers, all the while Uncle Howdy is taking over those TVs to thrust us into their worlds.” Alexa Bliss, along with other famous WWE faces, will be making an appearance here.
Though it isn’t just Uncle Howdy that’s going to be a feature. Ramblin' Rabbit, Abby the Witch, Huskus the Pig Boy and Mercy the Buzzard aren’t just making a fleeting appearance. Lora was excited to describe just what fans will come face-to-face with when entering their world.
“Huskus the Pig, you’re going into a dilapidated pigpen where he’s ripping the flesh off of other wrestlers and everyone that gets in his way. Ramblin’ Rabbit, you’re in a twisted upside-down tea party…with Mercy the Buzzard, buzzards are just picking at your flesh and tearing people apart.”
If you're bringing a horror-loving friend that doesn’t know wrestling (scandalous, I know), fear not, as Lora has promised that the Wyatt Sicks house will be terrifying enough without knowing any of the WWE lore that we all love. “So, Abby the Witch, we’re going into her witch’s hut. So even if you don’t know her as a character, she is creepy and you’re in this creepy witch’s hut with all these things going on.”
As wrestling fans, we all know that the world of sports entertainment is nothing without us, so of course, the Wyatt Sicks' firefly fans would appear. As you journey through the horrifying house, you may find masked Fireflies with "lights in their eyes" ready to jump out.
“So, there may be some original characters that you’re going to see throughout the house of the Wyatt Sicks House that represent the Fireflies... You’re going to see the Fireflies in the stands, and then all of then all of those, what we assume are WWE fans are coming to life right in front of us in horrific ways.”
Universal’s Halloween Horror Nights and WWE have always had a crossover of fans, something Lora attributes to the thrill factor. “It gives you all that excitement, right? But it has a thrill connected to it, which is also what HHN does.”
It isn’t just wrestling fans who like Halloween Horror Nights, it's stars do too. For many years, the likes of Cody Rhodes have been seen attending the ticketed event, so perhaps a lucky fan might find themselves going through this horror maze at the same time as a WWE star.
Speaking about WWE’s wrestlers enjoying the event, Lora couldn’t help but talk about WWE's anticipation surrounding this house coming to HHN. “We found out working with Bo Dallas that most of the WWE wrestlers that live locally around Orlando come to Halloween Horror Nights quite often and are huge Horror Nights fans… it was a perfect marriage of bringing their characters to life at Horror Nights. They are super excited about it.”
"WWE Presents: The Horrors of the Wyatt Sicks” house, along with the also announced "Five Nights at Freddy's" house, completes the lineup for this year's event. With WWE, Five Nights at Freddy's, Fallout, Terrifier, and Jason Voorhees already slated to be at HH34, we can’t wait to see who completes the card.
Halloween Horror Nights at Universal Orlando Resort is set to run across 48 nights between 29th August - 2nd November.
Tickets for the event are already on sale.
