10 Biggest Transfer Shocks In Premier League History

By Liam Hoofe /

1. Carlos Tevez/Javier Mascherano (Corinthians-West Ham)

This is the only double transfer on the list and it€™s one that the list just wouldn€™t be complete without. Coming out of the 2006 World Cup finals in Germany Carlos Tevez and Javier Mascherano were both hot topics. A storming world cup campaign where they have impressed for Argentina had many major clubs in Europe sniffing around for them. But out of all the clubs who were interested it was West Ham who managed to pull of the shock transfer deadline day signing in 2006. Mascherano would only go on to spend half a season at the London based club whilst Tevez stayed the full year and played an instrumental role in their relegation battle, scoring a crucial goal away at Old Trafford to seal their safety.
