In a 1989 charity friendly for Marseille against Torpedo Moscow, Eric Cantona well and truly lost the plot. After being subbed during the game (a meaningless friendly game, remember), Cantona took his shirt off and threw it down in disgust. This happened after hed already booted the ball into the crowd. Marseille owner Bernard Tapie didnt take too well to this, banning Cantona for a month and vowing that he would never play for the club again. Eric would end up moving to Bordeaux for six months before a year-long stay at Montpellier.
